Landscape in Literati Style. Handscroll, ink and light colors on paper. Signature at the end of the scroll: „… In the first month of spring in the jiachen year of the Qianlong period (1784) done by Dunsu shanren Liang Guoshu“. Two seals of the artist: “Guoshu zhi yin”, “…wen shi”. Frontispice with calligraphy in cursive script: “Out of the Mountains Looking into the Midst of Heaven (shan wai jian tian zhong). Inscribed by Liang Guoshu.” One seal of the artist: “…’an”. One collector’s seal.
From a private collection in southern Germany, largely acquired in Hong Kong and Jakarta in the 1960s/1970s
The scroll is new mounted in the twentieth century, the frontispiece also looks quite recent. The painting is old with the paper partly damaged and with old signature, maybe of the date mentioned
